A Bond-Worthy Performance for the Manhattan 68 Reveal
In January 2025, Big Smoke Brass - UK had the privilege of performing at the iconic boot Dusseldorf event — the world’s largest indoor boat show. We were thrilled to collaborate with Sunseeker International for the grand unveiling of their stunning new vessel, the Manhattan 68. And what better way to mark the occasion than with a powerful, bespoke brass arrangement of the James Bond theme "No Time To Die"?
Performing at such a prestigious international event is always an honour and this was no exception. The energy was palpable as guests gathered around the Sunseeker stand, eagerly awaiting the big reveal.
From Rehearsals to the Grand Reveal
Our Party Band with Singer line-up took centre stage, adding an extra layer of drama and elegance to the performance. After traveling to Germany, we spent Friday rehearsing to ensure every note was just right for the big moment on Saturday. As the Manhattan 68 was unveiled, we launched into our arrangement of "No Time To Die", creating a spectacle that filled the giant exhibition space and got all eyes on the Sunseeker stand.
Keeping the Crowd Entertained
Following the breathtaking reveal, we kept the celebrations alive with a set of our signature brass band pop covers. Our lively selection of hits had attendees singing along, clapping, and dancing — a true testament to the energy that a brass band like ours can bring. Performing at high-profile events like this is where we shine, and it was a joy to see the smiles and excitement from the audience.
An International Adventure
Performing internationally is something we’re always thrilled to do. Traveling to Germany with the band offered a perfect opportunity for a little post-performance downtime. After our set, we embraced the chance to explore Dusseldorf, enjoy the sights, and, of course, sample the local cuisine. One particular highlight was tasting Altbier, the region’s famous dark ale. Sharing a round of this traditional brew together was the perfect way to toast a successful performance!
